Oxclose Community School is a very successful community school which enjoys a high reputation both locally and nationally. We are very proud of our school and its achievements and are confident that we can provide the appropriate levels of challenge and support that will allow all of our students to fulfil their potential.

Our school environment is outstanding and the facilities available for both staff and students to learn together and pursue excellence are truly first class. We are a caring and inclusive school with high expectations of everyone in our community, students and staff alike. As a Performing and Visual Arts Specialist College, our students can look forward to high quality involvement in all aspects of the arts throughout their curriculum.

Our school’s examination results are consistently amongst the best in the City of Sunderland and are a demonstration of the high standards we expect of learning in all our classrooms. The pursuit of high academic attainment and standards for each and every one of our students remains one of our highest priorities. We aim to develop young people who are committed to pursuing their learning beyond school, who are caring, thoughtful individuals and who are willing to contribute to the communities in which they live, locally, nationally and internationally.
